Mohammed M. S. Jan is a Professor and Consultant of Pediatric Neurology and Clinical Neurophysiology, Department of Pediatrics, Faculty of Medicine, King Abdulaziz University, Jeddah, Kingdom of Saudi Arabia. Prof. Jan was born and raised in Makkah, Saudi Arabia. He graduated from the Faculty of Medicine, king Abdulaziz University in Jeddah with an excellent grade (honor degree). He received post-graduate training from 1991 to 1998 at Dalhousie University, Halifax, Nova Scotia, Canada. Prof. Jan obtained several certificates including the American Board of Pediatrics, Fellowship of the Royal College of Physicians of Canada (FRCPC) in Pediatrics, FRCPC in Neurology, EMG Certification, and EEG Certification by the Canadian Society of Clinical Neurophysiologists. He has more than 90 publications in peer reviewed national and international journals. Currently, Prof. Jan is an active member of several national and international organizations including the Saudi epilepsy society, Pan Arab Child Neurology Association, the American Epilepsy Society, the International Child Neurology Association, and the Canadian Society of Child Neurology. He also serves on several editorial and review boards of several national and international journals. Prof. Jan received several awards including 2 Merit awards presented by the Saudi Council in Canada for academic achievements, Post-doctoral Research Award presented by the British Council, several Recognition Award presented by the Faculty of Medicine, and several Research Excellence award presented by the Deanship of Scientific Research, King Abdulaziz University.
